DEEP SEA FISHING TRIPS
FISHING IN PLAYA DEL CARMEN FAQ'sQ: WHAT IS THE BEST TIME OF YEAR FOR FISHING IN PLAYA DEL CARMEN? A: March thru August is our the peak fishing season in Playa del Carmen, when marlin, mahi mahi, sailfish and wahoo abound, but there are plenty of other species of fish out there the other months as well. The winter months are peak season for Wahoo, for example. in See our Q: CAN I KEEP THE FISH I CATCH? CAN YOU COOK IT FOR ME? A: Yes. All the fish you catch on our fishing trips is yours to keep if you wish. There is a restaurant at the marina where you can have them cook it up for you fresh out of the ocean. Your crew will show you where. Q: CAN I DO BOTTOM FISHING OR REEF FISHING INSTEAD OF DEEP SEA FISHING? A: Of course! Just let us know so we can make sure to have the right gear on board for you. Bottom fishing for groupers, snappers and other reef fish is a good activity for families and in the wintertime as well. Great eating fish and very interactive. Q: I'M AFRAID I'LL GET SEASICK - WHAT SHOULD I DO? A: We always recommend taking a seasickness prevention such as Bonine or 24 Hour Less-Drowsy Dramamine 1 hour before departure. It only costs a few dollars, is readily available at your local pharmacy, and can make all the difference in your trip of a lifetime. We don't recommend regular Dramamine, as it only works for 4 hours and can cause drowsiness. Q: WILL YOU PICK ME UP AT MY HOTEL OR DO I HAVE TO TAKE A TAXI? A: We offer pick up from all Riviera Maya and Playa del Carmen hotels for between $18.00 and $23.00 per person round-trip, depending on the location of your hotel. You can also meet at the marina if you're staying in Puerto Morelos, but the transportation is easy and inexpensive, so we recommend to take advantage of it. Q: CAN I TAKE MY CATCH BACK TO THE STATES WITH ME? A: Yes, but we don't recommend it. With the Patriot Act and the new airline security regulations it is more trouble than it's worth. We recommend taking it to our restaurant and having the chef cook it up for you instead - fresh right off the line. You can also take some back to your hotel, store it in your hotel freezer and cook it up on other days of your vacation. Of course, the crew always appreciates anything you leave with them as well.
